In that experiment, 54 healthy young adults stayed awake for 30 straight hours under lab supervision, then were split into three groups: 20 minutes of cycling, a 90-minute nap, or no intervention. Three days later, those who exercised or napped performed about 22% better on memory tests than those who did neither.
