Surveillance Video Captures Deadly Chase

Kendra Yulisha Ashe, 37, of Dallas, Georgia, was arrested following a police investigation into an incident that happened on May 8, when investigators said she was leaving a party on Westhampton Way in the Brookshire Townhomes subdivision of Villa Rica and ran the dog over after chasing it down in her Audi. The crash was captured on surveillance video, which allowed investigators to develop a timeline of events and track down the vehicle and driver involved.

Police launched an investigation after a walk-in complaint brought video evidence of the evening incident to light, with authorities receiving reports about a Paulding County woman allegedly tracking down and killing a dog with her vehicle. According to police, the incident took place around 10 p.m. that night.

Multi-Agency Investigation Leads to Arrest

Police were able to interview the driver and, after getting a search warrant, processed the vehicle with the help of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Unit. Her cell phone was also seized. Kendra Yulisha Ashe was taken into custody on felony charges after multi-agency search warrants were executed at her home. Ashe was arrested May 15 and charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals and misdemeanor cruelty to animals.
