Four Days of Deals Came to a Close on June 26

Amazon's biggest shopping event of the year wrapped up just two days ago, and if you blinked, you might think you missed everything. You didn't — not entirely. Prime Day 2026 officially kicked off on Tuesday, June 23, at 12:01 a.m. PDT and ran through midnight on Friday, June 26, offering Prime members four days of deals across more than 35 categories. The scale was enormous, and the variety of discounts — from kitchen appliances to cutting-edge wearables — gave shoppers plenty to consider.

Prime Day 2026 was four days long. The sale had typically run across two days, but in 2025, Amazon extended it to four days, and the format appears to be the new norm going forward. Amazon also moved the event into June this year, with reports noting that the timing helps avoid a crowded July calendar that includes the World Cup and the United States' 250th Independence Day celebrations.

The Standout Deals That Defined the Event

Tech dominated the headlines this year, and for good reason. Some of the top Prime Day deals included 54% off Sony headphones, 30% off Apple Watch Series 11, 50% off Amazon Fire TV Sticks, and 72% off Blink doorbell cameras. For audiophiles, the Sony WH-1000XM5 premium noise-canceling headphones, featuring a 30-hour battery and Alexa voice control, were available for up to 29% off.

The kitchen category was equally impressive. The KitchenAid Artisan 5-quart stand mixer, featuring durable metal construction, 10 speeds, and a tilt-head design, was available for up to 24% off. Coffee lovers had reasons to celebrate too — the Nespresso Vertuo by De'Longhi, which brews over 30 coffee varieties in five cup sizes, was up to 23% off, while the Breville Barista Express, featuring an integrated grinder that goes from beans to espresso in under one minute, was up to 28% off. Wearable tech also shined: the Fitbit Charge 6, which includes a three-month Google Health premium membership, was available for up to 47% off.

What the Numbers Reveal About How People Shopped

Consumer data paints an interesting picture of shopper behavior during the event. The average Prime Day 2026 order size was $47.66, down from $53.34 in last year's early read. Nearly two-thirds of households placed two or more separate orders, bringing average household spend to approximately $143.45, down from $156.37 last year. Over two-thirds of items purchased sold for under $20, while just 3% were priced above $100, resulting in an average spend of $23.23 per item.

Over half of Prime Day shoppers — 59% — reported high satisfaction with the deals available during the event, down from two-thirds the prior year. More than half compared prices across retailers before completing their purchases. Prime Day shoppers also engaged with competing promotions, with 49% shopping or planning to shop Walmart Deals and 32% shopping or planning to shop Target Circle Deal Days. Smart shoppers clearly weren't putting all their eggs in one basket.

Deals May Be Gone, But Savings Season Isn't Over

Amazon Prime Day officially ended on June 26, but some brands are extending their deals through the weekend for last-minute shoppers. Most Prime Day deals are over, but a handful of really good ones remain available, many of which are either at their Prime Day price or a few dollars more but still at least 20% off. It pays to keep checking in the days that follow a major sale event — retailers often leave select discounts running longer than the official end date.

Looking ahead, Amazon has hosted two Prime Day-level events every year since 2022: Amazon Prime Day during the summer and Prime Big Deal Days during the fall, typically in October. Prime Big Deal Days, also known as Fall Prime Day, has not yet received an official 2026 date, but based on recent years, it is expected around early to mid-October. For anyone who missed out this time around, that's not too far away — and if this year's event was any indication, the deals will be well worth the wait.
