Coulthart was reported missing on May 24 after he was last seen leaving the College Condominiums in Florida. His remains were discovered on June 25, and DNA testing confirmed his identity in July. On June 25th, Niceville investigators received information from an individual incarcerated in the Okaloosa County Jail about the location of Coulthart's body. The grim discovery launched a manhunt that would span multiple states.

Authorities alleged that "Johnson frequently moves locations and often convinces others to help her by telling sympathetic stories involving domestic violence or other personal hardships." That manipulation extended well beyond just changing her name or appearance. Martin and Sandra Leaverton, both 63, were charged with accessory after the fact to capital murder after investigators alleged they helped Johnson by retrieving her belongings, providing a cellphone, and attempting to help her find refuge outside Florida. Authorities later charged Michael Ray White, 74, and Kathleen Morris, 59, with accessory to a capital felony after the fact and obstruction after alleging they provided Johnson with shelter, transportation, and supplies while misleading deputies about her whereabouts.

Digital Breadcrumbs Lead to Capture
